Thanking the Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi for the honour, Prof. Soyinka told guests and well wishers at the dinner that his health was energized by good eating habit, including eating pepper and grape. Dignitaries at the party also included, Rivers State Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru, former Deputy Governor, Sir G.T.G Toby and his wife, Christy, renowned writer and contemporary of Prof. Soyinka, Dr. Gabriel Okara amongst others.
